Dit beeld-1-stond in mijn tuin, maar eigenlijk is het hout niet geschikt, het is te zacht en snel onderhevig aan verwering. Het stond er 6 maanden en ik heb het nu verplaatst naar een mooie plek onder mijn veranda. Maar het is en blijft een buitenbeeld, al is het nu eigenlijk een binnenbuitenbeeld, een BBB dus.

Op bijgaande foto´s laat ik iets zien van het ontstaansproces.

Ik begon met een bijna niet te tillen blok hout-2-, waarvan ik besloot een hand te maken

Al werkend kwam ik steeds maar zachte plekken tegen die ik weghakte.

Tegen het einde kwam de handvorm, maar die vond ik te lomp.-3-.

Toen was ik al maaaaanden bezig. En nog niet tevreden, naar mijn idee was er te weinig textuur in het hout, ik vond mijn oplossing door een abstraherende aanpak.-4-

Om het beeld te accentueren tegen de achtergrond, was een contrasterend rood accent nodig.-5-

IOS

This statue  -1- stood in my garden, but in fact it is not a suitable timber, it is too soft and subject to rapid weathering. It was there six months and I have now moved it to a nice spot under my porch. But it is still an outside statue, though it is actually an InsideOutsideSculpture, so an IOS.

On the photos I show something of the creation process.

I started with a block-2,1-, almost impossible to lift, timber,  which I decided to transform into a hand. Whilst working I constantly had to chop off soft spots -2,2 + 2,3- and at the end emerges the handform, but it was too rude for me. -3-
At that moment I had been working on it for months and months.  But  I was not satisfied, I found it too little texture in the wood,I found my solution by working to an abstraction.-4-

To accentuate the statue against the background a contrasting red accent was needed-5-.
